Phil (フィル) is a bold, transformational, innovative leader, and entrepreneur with a deep understanding of China's market, and the successful implementation of new solutions within this complex market. He has started and successfully exited from multiple companies, and is currently the Co-Founder and COO of Simplifyber—a company that is creating clothing directly from plant cellulose. And a founding partner of mvmt inc.

Phil is also a music artist, guitarist, and founder of the professional alt-rock band Blackout Balter.

A military veteran, Phil served deployments in Afghanistan and the Persian Gulf. He graduated #1 in his major at the US Air Force Academy, and is a former NCAA Division I athlete.

Before that, Phil played full-time, "Junior A" in the United States Hockey League (USHL).

Phil earned his MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management, where he studied Entrepreneurship and Innovation, founded MIT's largest startup accelerator "The Beehive," was co-president of MIT Veterans' Club, and was awarded the Anderson Fellowship upon graduation for entrepreneurship excellence.

His expertise includes leadership, company/team building, business strategy, operations, program management, the China market, international healthcare, digital media, and Department of Defense/US Government acquisition/contracting.
